Our Mission
Chip In To Cure, Corp. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supported by charitable contributions from local businesses in the Phoenix Community and across the U.S.
Our mission is to support and supplement centers for Cancer Research and Recovery through our donations. This will be attained through the online discount retailing of donated Men’s and Women’s Athletic apparel. Through ChipInToCure.com, we will offer discounted retail men’s and women’s athletic apparel and convert these revenues into charitable contributions to a greater cause.
CITC will work in partnership with other organizations to achieve the greatest impact in the global fight against Cancer. Our online resource will also be a channel for discussion boards, blogs, donations, gift giving, and schedule for our Local and National events. Our goal is to support those companies seeking innovative ways to progress recovery, research, and new options to cure Cancer.
The Key Players
Joe Bacal, Co-Founder, Cancer Survivor
Growing up in Southern California in the wide open hills of Santa Clarita, Joe Bacal spent every spare hour in the garage with his dad wrenching on classic cars and motorcycles. A love affair with motorcycles began at 8 years old and progressed to racing at the famous Indian Dunes Raceway Park on 80cc mini-cycles and then up to the 125cc class in his teens. Joe’s passion for motorcycles and dirt motorsports continued when he worked as a mechanic and pit support at the Mickey Thompson Series races plus the Camel AMA Supercross Series from 1988 to 1993.
David Metzler, Co-Founder, eCommerce Expert
Born and raised in Littleton, Colorado, David grew up in a world surrounded by athletics. At age 6, he started playing soccer and never stopped. By the end of High School, David had to decide between playing Division I Soccer on a college athletic scholarship or training for the Olympics to compete in Tae Kwon Do.
Education took precedence and David ended up attending the University of New Mexico on a Soccer Scholarship. David started and played all four years at UNM and achieved Captain and MVP in his Senior graduating year.
Teresa Bacal, Cancer Caregiver and Activist
Her entire life, Teresa Bacal has been an admitted type A personality and consummate go-getter. She attended college at the University of Minnesota where she earned a degree in marketing and business training, and even created a position for herself as the marketing director of a leading machinery manufacturing company before she graduated.
Her ambitious attitude and results driven work ethic eventually led her to a position with Business Incentives, one of the nation’s largest hospitality and incentive companies, where she remained for seven years.
